Order an English Birth, Marriage or Death certificate. – May be a full certificate, a shortened version. When available, the least expensive option is to have it delivered as a .pdf file. (Note: Scotland and Northern Ireland operate their own registry offices)

Irish Registry of Deeds Project – Useful information but still a work in progress.
Order a Northern Ireland Birth, Marriage or Death Certificate – Only for Northern Ireland.
Order a Republic of Ireland Birth, Marriage or Death Certificate for Ireland – The Registry office for the Republic of Ireland. Many old documents are a free download.

Norway
Norway digital archive – Birth, Marriage and Death Records.
Norwegian Farm Names – Useful site for looking up farms by name.
Geographical Locations in Norway – Bydelag providing geographical information for Norway and useful links to resources in Norway and the US. Organized by Norwegian district.
Emigrant Ship Names – Norway Heritage Site contains names and descriptions on emigrant ships, many with photographs.
Vesterheim – Based in Decorah, Iowa. All things Norwegian including Museum and Norwegian American archives. They publish useful books and guides.
